Invitations
Invitations

Make baseball invitations. Fold a piece of white construction paper in half. Position a mug so it is mostly on the paper and the rim overlaps the fold, as shown. Trace around the rim and cut out
the shape, but don't cut along the fold line.

Invitations
Draw stitching lines of red V's as you would find on a baseball. Write "You're invited . . ." on the outside and "to a Baseball Party!" on the inside. Include the date, time, and place of your party and your name and phone number. Tell each guest to bring a baseball glove and be dressed to "play ball!"

Decorations
Make ticket placemats. Use construction paper 11 inches wide and 17 inches long, or cut rectangles that size from paper grocery bags.
Ticket Place Mats
Cut a half-circle from the short ends of the placemats. With a black marker, draw a rectangle on each placemat. Inside it, write "Admits One" and "World Series" or "All-Star Game."

Decorate the room with round balloons on which you've drawn red stitching V's in lines, as on your invitations.

Cut pennant shapes from paper or felt of different colors.
Colorful Pennants

Decorate the pennants with the names and symbols of your favorite teams. Or cut out circles, decorate them like baseballs, and glue them to the pennants. Tape the pennants to the walls.

Make small pennants for favors. Put guests' names on them and glue them to toothpicks, pencils, or straws.

Refreshments

Peanut Butter Sandwiches and Grilled Hot Dogs

Serve peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, grilled hot dogs, chips, popcorn, and peanuts.

Root Beer Floats

Make root beer floats. Put a scoop of vanilla ice cream into half-filled glasses of root beer. Or serve ice-cold lemonade.

Decorate a cake to look like a baseball diamond. Ice the cake in white. Use green icing to make a baseball diamond and squares of candy or chewing gum for bases. Place miniature plastic baseball players in position on the cake.Baseball Cake

Batter Up!
Make a baseball game the main event. If you don't have a good place to play, consider holding the party at a local playground or park. Check with park officials in advance.
