"Launch the Yarn Ball" Game

By Jean Kuhn

  1. Cut a card shape from a firm plastic lid, or use an old plastic card (such as a gift card), and punch a hole at each end.
  2. Roll a 1/2-inch ball of yarn. Knot the yarn to keep the ball together, and leave a 2-foot tail of extra yarn. Tie the tail through the hole at one end of the card.
  3. With a pushpin, poke a hole in the bottom of a small, clean creamer container. Use a paper fastener to connect the creamer container to the plastic card through the hole opposite the yarn.
  4. Cut a variety of felt shapes.

To Play: Lay the felt shapes on a table. Put the yarn ball into the creamer container, and let that end of the card hang over the edge of a table. Hold the other end in place. Aim for a piece of felt, bend the card down, and let it go. If the yarn ball lands on your piece of felt, you get a point.
